Subscribe to "Ladera Seniors Mailing List"

This is a mailing list for the more senior members of the Ladera community, with no firm lower (or upper) age limit.

If you have any issues, announcements, or concerns that are specific to the senior community, please join the mailing list, which has nearly 100 subscribers.

If you are not on the list and would like to join, please send an email requesting a subscription to: earle.jones@comcast.net . He will forward your email address to Topica.com (the people who manage the list).  They will send you an email invitation to join.  All you have to do is hit "Reply" and send it back.  No need to add any text, etc. Then you will automatically receive all postings to the list.

After you subscribe, you can send a message to all Ladera Senior subscribers by emailing: laderaseniors@topica.com. It's all free, of course. They look forward to seeing you on the list.

Ladera Book Club
The Ladera Book Club meets every six weeks at members homes or at the Ladera Rec Center. Book discussions are facilitated by members. All Laderans are invited to participate at any book club meeting whether or not you've read the book being discussed.

If you would like to be added to the book club mailing list, you can sign up via email simply by sending a BLANK email to: laderabookclub-subscribe@topica.com

Topica will automatically send a confirmation message with detailed instructions on how the list works. Topica.com offers you a choice of signing up as a topica.com member or, if you read to the end of their message, simply replying to the confirming e-mail. The second will protect your privacy better.

If you would like more information about the club, call Ellen Tafeen at 854-4482 or Jon Heiner at 854-8039.

Ladera Garden Club
The Ladera Garden Club meets once a month from September to June (usually on the second Saturday). Details are in the Ladera Crier each month, including the subject, location, time of the meeting, and a telephone number to contact. New members are always welcome and we encourage guests at the meetings.

Local residents and guest speakers provide information about local and exotic flora, and how to handle those special Ladera problems (i.e. DEER!) Occasionally, the club sponsors field trips to local flower and plant markets. The Garden Club is responsible for the landscaping of the island at La Mesa and Alpine Road, and the garland on the Ladera sign during the holidays.

Ladera Blood Drive
There is a Bi-Annual Blood drive at the Ladera Rec in Spring (March/April) and October. Emails will be sent to the Ladera General Email lists to solicit donors 6-8 weeks before each drive.

For additional information, please contact Sonoo, Ellora or Maya Israni at laderablooddrive@yahoo.com.

Portola Valley Forum
This is a Portola Valley area residents mailing list, including Ladera.
